An intimate space, warm and inviting with Mediterranean colours and scenic photos, the Corfu Mediterranean Grill is managed by owners Sophia and Chris Koukidis along with their son, Costa. According to Chris who is the chief cook, “The menu is real authentic Mediterranean Greek food. It starts from olive oil, fresh vegetables, fresh salads, garlic, and olive oil.”
Retired for several years after shutting down The Dover Seafood Restaurant in Port Hope – a 140 seat establishment that hired 30 people located on Peter Street – The Corfu Grill has been open 8 years at its King Street location just east of the intersection of Division and King Streets in Cobourg.
“I do everything. The kitchen help. The waitressing. The staff. Picking up orders,” says Sophia. who has a very warm and genuine smile.
Menu favourites are souvlaki and gyros they say. Other top choices are roast lamb, calamari and moussaka.
The restaurant is licensed. It offers takeout and catering. Both of which they do a lot of says the happy couple.
